About Cooper's Home - The Sheila Klinker Build
Cooper is ready for independent living in an affordable home. He works at the YMCA as a wellness coordinator and trainer. Additionally, he volunteers at the Wabash Center to assist those with special needs in staying active.
Cooper is well aware of the vital role exercise plays in his life, having been born with cerebral palsy and relying on crutches for mobility. Without his dedication to fitness, he would likely be confined to a wheelchair. Despite his challenges, Cooper remains determined to lead an independent life and share his talents with others.
Now, however, he needs support from the community. With a safe, zero-entry home equipped with a walk-in shower and handrails throughout, Cooper's life will be drastically transformed.
State Rep. Sheila Klinker is a longtime supporter of Habitat and Cooper's friend. It's our pleasure to honor her with The Sheila Klinker Build in appreciation of her decades of service to Greater Lafayette and Habitat.
